FUTURISM - BIBLIOGRAPHY
Some English-language sources.
The books listed are simply ones in my own collection. Many have
been bought second-hand and are probably no longer in print. Rik

And Hudson, 1973, 0 500 20132 3.
Essential reference, although a number of manifestos can now be found
on the Web.

Stephen
Hellor & Louise Fili, Italian Art Deco, Chronicle Books,
San Francisco, 1993, 0 8118 0287 6.
Demonstrates the influence of Futurism on advertising art. This colourful
book belongs to a very nice series dealing mainly with Art Deco graphic
design such as trademarks.

Unlike some other works, this continues the history of Futurism into the
20s and 30s.
Filippo Tommaso Marinetti , The Futurist Cookbook, Trefoil
Publications Ltd, 1989, 0 86294 140 7.
'Essays, exhortations, scenarios, manifestos and recipes for the food
of the Future'.

And Hudson, 1974, 0 500 41052 6.
The Futurist section is only part of a relatively small book, but none-the-less
provides a succinct interpretation of the 'ideology' of Futurism.
José Pierre , Futurism and Dadaism, Heron Books, London
1969. A volume in a popular history of art series arranged in a highly
accessible textbook style. Additional sections feature documents, a chronology,
a museum guide, a list of principal exhibitions and an A-Z dictionary.
Caroline Tisdall & Angelo Bozzolla , Futurism, Thames
And Hudson, 1977, reprinted 1985.
A very full and well-illustrated account concentrating on the early period.
