This is one of David Tibet's favourite albums and is said to be a must
for anyone who likes Current 93 and Antony and The Johnsons. I wondered
what special qualities were to be unleashed as it starts with an accordion.
It sounds pleasant but then it becomes apparent that someone has left
a budgie in the recording studio! All is forgiven as the title track 'Little
Window' starts with dreamy piano much in the vein of Antony and the Johnsons.
This is my favourite track here and on multiple listens it just gets stronger.
On first listen I had a bit of a problem with the vocals. They do sound
a bit like the singing on the theme to Black Adder II. As the album
runs its course, they do still grate on me, but I have found myself warming
to them making the listening pleasure of this much more palatable. Noel
Coward also springs to mind when listening to these piano based tunes.
There are some brilliant songs although not the consistency to keep me
entertained for the full fifty minutes.
