Dark Symphonies

Brave were formerly known as Arise From Thorns. They changed their name to reflect a move from "melodic, atmospheric" music to "progressive metal". Most groups seem to travel in the opposite direction, but who can blame them with the metal audience being so much bigger. It's a nice and professional sound with good female vocals and smooth musicianship, but file under 'pop/rock' rather than 'alternative'.
